Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
I. Fail to support reading our Bibles.
1 Tim. 4:13 – Till I come, give attendance to reading,
to exhortation, to doctrine. (Paul’s directions to young Timothy)
II. Fail to support denouncing immorality/wickedness.
Genesis 6:5 – And God saw that the wickedness of
man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
III. Fail to support the confession of our sins.
I John 1:8-10 – If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. IV. Fail to support prayer.
I Thessalonians 5:17 – Pray without ceasing. (See
also I Samuel 12:23; II Chronicles 7:12-15; Luke 18:1)
V. Fail to support our families.
Colossians 3:19 – Husbands, love your wives, and be
not bitter against them.
Colossians 3:21 – Fathers, provoke not your children
to anger, lest they be discouraged.
VI. Fail to support our missionaries.
Acts 20:35 – I have shewed you all things, how that
so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Hebrews 6:10 – For God is not unrighteous to forget
your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
VII. Fail to support Soul Winning.
Proverbs 11:30 – The fruit of the righteous is a tree of
life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
VIII. Fail to support our Pastor.
Jeremiah 3:15 – And I will give you pastors according
to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Ephesians 4:11 – And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
