The Alumni Program: A Global Community

Cisco is committed to supporting the career


development goals and objectives of students
and graduates both in the classroom and beyond
• The Alumni Program keeps students and
graduates connected to continuous learning
and valuable benefits and services all
designed to help them be successful
• Alumni members become a part of the
growing, global Alumni community called the
“Alumni Connection”.
• Through the Alumni Connection, members
continue to leverage Cisco’s place in the
industry

Who Is Eligible?

• Any student or Instructor who has successfully


completed and been graduated from at least one
course of core curriculum (CCNA1-4, CCNP1-4,
IT Essentials I or II, UNIX, etc.)
• There is no cost involved in registering or
accessing the basic level of Alumni benefits and
services
• Some premium services may carry a cost-
recovery fee but this will always be clearly stated
before you sign up for the service
• Once you have registered as an Alumni member,
you will continue to have access to the growing
list of benefits and services offered to our
Alumni Community regardless of how long ago
you completed your course work

• Continued access to curriculum


 Access to the most current version of curriculum you
have already completed
Curriculum is mapped to the most current certification
exams
• Career Connection Services
Access to career development and job placement tools
and services through Career Connection
Depending on location, Career Connection includes
access to an on line job board and/or placement services
through Recruitment Agencies
• Alumni Connection Web Site
Message Boards, discussions and chats
Discounts from Cisco and Cisco’s customers and
partners on products and services through the Alumni
Marketplace
Benefits and services specific to your region
Continuous learning and technical information

•Alumni Locator, which allows you to search for other
Alumni in the database
•Articles about the IT Industry and trends, salaries, and
certifications
•Career Path Mapping tools and resources
•Information about professional organizations and
publications
•Ability to post new discussion topics to the forums and
to subscribe to those discussions
•Language-specific content and discussions
•Chats with experts in the field

If the user is within 2 weeks of


graduating from their qualifying
class they will see this message on
their Home Page on Academy
Connection; once they have been
graduated from their qualifying
class, the message will disappear
and the Alumni registration link will
appear in the LH navigation area.

the “Tools” link
on your Home
Student Home Page of Page. There you’ll
find two tutorials
an “Eligible Alumni” to assist you in
showing the Alumni registering as an
registration link in the Alumni member
and initializing
LH navigation area your community
features on your
new Alumni Home
Page on Academy
Connection.

From here, you’ll be able
to access the Discussion
Threads from the Alumni
Message Boards…

and you’ll be able to

the Alumni Connection
web site to see the
benefits and services that
are available to you.
