Directions from Dubai MAZYAD
About 10 km after Hatta you will reach BORDER

the Omani border. Before approaching 3 LIWA

the check point, look for the second
building at your left, where you can
obtain third party insurance for your 4 SOHAR INDUSTRIAL
vehicle. Currently the cost for 10 days is
110 Dirhams.
5 FALAJ AL QABIL
After crossing the last border
checkpoint, set your odometer at zero.
At kilometre 22.4 you reach the first 6 SOHAR
roundabout, where you turn right toward
Muscat. Driving always straight, you will
cross another 12 roundabouts, before 7 PALM TREE
you will see at kilometre reading 216 a
large yellow-white-blue signboard of Al
Sawadi Beach Resort, signalling the
8 SAHAM
exit from the highway. From that
intersection it is just another 9 km until
the resort.
9 QABOORA

Directions from Al Ain

Going through Al Ain and Buraimi, 10 SUWAYQ
follow the directional traffic sign
toward Sohar. The Omani border
checkpoint is about 30 km within 11 WUDAM
Omani territory. After Al Ain/Buraimi
checkpoint follow the traffic signs
toward Sohar. The road is not a 12 RUSTAQ
highway, but a regular 2-lane road
with oncoming traffic. Beware, the
road has a couple of narrow and
NIZWA 13 MUSAHNAH
sharp curves, so, mind your speed!

Alternative route is through Nizwa. 8.5 KM

Close to Jebel Haffit is another

border, Mazyad. A regular 2-lane AL SAWADI 9 KM

road will bring you to Nizwa and JUNC TION

after that highway to Seeb 18 KM
roundabout. Thus, you will be BARKA
approaching Al Sawadi Beach
Resort from the direction of Muscat,
going toward Sohar.
