AT THE BEGINNING, WE EXPLAINED THE PROJECT TO OUR STUDENTS

After the Project had been accepted, the subject of the Project and the partners
involved in were presented at school to the students. They learned how to say “good
morning” in 5 languages.

THE STUDENTS MET WITH EACH OTHER BY E-MAIL EXCHANGE

Our Project team of students in 9th and 10th grade and the other students, involved in the
same Project, were introduced to each other about themselves, their schools and the cities where
they live via e-mail
OUR FIRST MEETING WAS HELD IN 20- 24 OCTOBER 2008 IN BRZEG,

POLAND.
The Project named “Ecologic Expedition” about environmental and ecological issues in
period 2008-2010 was held as a first meeting in Brzeg,Poland in 20 – 24 October 2008.Our school
was represented by the school principal Mustafa Engin and the Project contact person Bahattin
Erel. In this meeting we not only introduced to each other our school and the region we live , but
also we planned the things we will do for this period.

WE ARRANGED ECOLOGICAL TRIPS

 We Were İnformed About The Trees Around This Region By Provincial Directorate Of
Environment And Forestry Of Edirne in 13 October 2008.
We visited the Provincial Directorate Of Environment And Forestry Of Edirne placed in

Edirne with our students.We had received information about the trees around this region.
Thus, we learned that these trees may catch up cancer.
And then we put some bird houses around the school to protect wild life.

We prepared three clipboards and put them in different places in our school for the students
to understand the Project better. In the concept of the clipboards we not only have
information about the partners of the Project but also updated information about the
presentation of the Project.

 We worked on water pollution by going to the Gölbaba region.
On our tour , we observed that the level of the water was very low and around the region was dirty . We
collected the waste materials around us and we received water sample for the analysis.

In the school laboratory, the students in the 9th grade and their chemistry teachers Elem Güven and Pınar
Kaya analyzed the water and measured Ph value of water.

As a result of the analysis , we observed that the water was dirty.
 The trip to get information about the air pollution placed in Directorate
of Environment and Forestry, Edirne
We organized the tour to The Provincial Directorate Of Environment And Forestry Of Edirne
with the vice principal Bahattin Erel and the Chemistry teachers Elem Güven and Pınar Kaya in 25
December 2008. So they became acquainted with ecological organizations and ecological legislation.
This trip was organised for the measurements of air pollution in Edirne. In this trip we were
informed about the reasons for air pollution and how to take precautions . We learned from the
Director of Environment And Forestry Abdullah Bülbül that solid fuel control which caused air
pollution in winter months, is very increased.

 Soil Analysis
Science teachers of Edirne Beykent College organized ecological trip to the Edirne
Commercial Exchange office 21st January, 2009. Cüneyt Zünbül, agricultural engineer, gave
information about the methods of soil testing, soil type of Edirne and the factor affecting soil
contamination. Then, we had chance to took in the soil testing laboratories and he showed us how
the testing was performed.
According to the information he gave the soil was sandy, clayey and loamy. He also pointed
out the main reason of the soil contamination was the incorrect use of fertilizers.

As a result of the logo competition that we organised among the students, we awarded the
performances entering the first three.

Our students prepared power point presentations on the topic “Will We Allow This?” and
shared these presentations with the students both in high school and primary school.

A Child is Growing, A Tree is Growing!

We planted trees so we wanted to make our next generation’s air more fresh. Our project
workshop had an influence on the local community.
OUR SECOND MEETING WAS HELD IN 16-20 MARCH 2009 IN

EDİRNE, TURKEY.
ECOLOGIC EXPEDITION
In Edirne meeting (15-20 March 2010), all the partners presented of works which has been done so
far. We assessed the logo election results and Polish logo was chosen. We also planned future
project activities and talked about preparation of project web site. We planted trees in a definite
place all together with the partners.

We sent the awarded works of the contest to the partners for the Earth’s Day in the format of e-
cards.
Uncover The Wonders Of Our Nature
In order to make a guide, we prepared pictures of definite places of interest with short descriptions
and sent them to Polish partner.

OUR THIRD MEETING WAS HELD IN 25-29 MAY 2009 IN

ZEIMIAI, LITHUANIA.
In Lithuania meeting (25-29 May 2010), all the partners analysed the project activities and
dissemination and impact on target groups, presented the SWOT anlysis. Also we talked about the
songs for the music CD.
OUR FOURTH MEETING WAS HELD IN 05-09 OCTOBER 2009 IN

RADECE, SLOVENIA.

In Radece, we planned our second year activities. Because all Project products would be appear in
this period. Herbal Plants Booklet, Uncover the Wonders of our Nature Booklet, Project Website,
Project’s Music CD, Data DVD, Peer Train Lessons etc.

We organized a health week (herbal teas, to be prepared and laid on the table with short
information about the herbs)

All the partners sent some information about the herbal plants and then we formed a
booklet.

OUR FIFTH MEETING WAS HELD IN 15-19 MARCH 2010 IN

ROMAN, ROMANIA.
In Roman, we assessed the products before they were produced (Uncover the Wonders of the
Nature and Herbal Booklet). Poland and Turkey showed their work and got the reviews on them.
Romania organized a “Drink a Herbal Tea” party. And we realized other planned activities.

OUR FIFTH AND LAST MEETING WAS HELD IN VRATSA BULGARIA

BETWEEN 17-21 MAY 2010
All the partners shared their project products in the last meeting. We watched an extraordinary end
of project concert. The Bulgarian school was very successful. The songs which belongs to the partner
schools were sung by the Bulgarian students in spite of the songs in their original language.
And also a mini-park was planted in the school-yard. Each country was presented with a separate
lane.
