DIGITAL POSTER MAKING CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES/GUIDELINES:

Theme:
“Celebrating 10 Years of Milestones in Information and Communications Technology”

1. The contest is open to all Datalogics Society members.


2. It will be conducted at the General Laboratory (LB445) on February 2, 2011, 9:00-11:00 AM.
3. Contestants should enter by pair and must submit only one entry.
4. The poster should be relative to the aforementioned theme.
5. All posters must be done only on the spot, which means all contestants are not allowed to bring
any premade posters or images; and must be completed within the allotted time of 2 hours.
6. Contestants may use a variety of graphic creation applications or any image-editor available in
the laboratory. Image size and resolution shall be 5x7 inches and 300 pixels/inch, respectively.
8. After the given time, all posters must be submitted in a .jpg format and will be considered done.
9. Failure to comply with the guidelines could result in a disqualification of the poster.
10. The judging of the posters will be right after the contest.
11. Three outstanding teams will be awarded Winner, 2nd placer, and 3rd placer respectively.
12. Cash prize await the winners.
13. Registration is FREE. Limited slots. First come first served basis.

The criteria for judging the entries are as follows:


 Relevance to the Theme - 40%
(Creative interpretation and effectively communicates to the theme)

 Creativity and Originality - 35%


(The poster must show the ability to be inventive and creative,
taking into account the freshness of design or style)

 Visual Impact/Aesthetic Appeal - 25%


(The poster must deliver a clear and positive image and must
captivate the judges’ senses)
