TECHKNOW QUIZ BOWL

OFFICIAL RULES/GUIDELINES:

1. The game requires ten (10) groups. Each group having four (4) members:
two 1st years, one 2nd year & one 3rd year (either CS, IT, ICT or ACT). The
following representatives will be chosen by their respective classes and/or
teacher.

2. The game has three (3) rounds according to degree of difficulty:


Neophyte’s Round (Increment Slowly)
Absolute’s Round (Negative Power)
Master’s Round (Reverse Engineering)

3. Each round contains a different set of point system.


Neophyte’s Round
Each correct answer is worth one (1) point. Five (5) groups who
have the higher points proceed to the next round.
Absolute’s Round
Each correct answer is worth three (3) points. As a group
answers correctly, they have the power (optional) to decrement the
opposing teams’ score by one. Only 3 groups proceed to the next
round based on the sum of the scores of the 1st and 2nd rounds.
Master’s Round
Each correct answer is worth five (5) points. As a group fails to
answer the question correctly, they will be deducted three (3) points
from their current score.

4. The groups with the highest total score from the 3 rounds will be declared
the winners (QB Champs, 1st and 2nd runner-ups).

5. In case of a tie, a tie breaker question will be given out.

6. The TechKnow Quiz Bowl will be on February 2, 2011, from 9:30-11:30


AM at LB483. Winners will be awarded on February 4, 2011 during the
TechKnow Jam 2011.
