    Lesson 1 An Introduction

    Objectives: The student will:

    - Complete the Getting to Know You handout


    - Understand the expectations of the tutoring sessions
    - Learn classroom language

    Getting to Know You

    This handout consists of three pages that focus on basic greetings. This will allow both of you to
    learn more about each other. Feel free to add your own style of teaching to the handouts to make
    it more interesting for you and your student! Please note, if you find that this information is too
    difficult or too easy for your student, make adjustments to your presentation.

    Each page has three sections: question/answer, practice, and complete/practice.

    Step 1: Tutor will read the section. Student will listen and follow along.

    Step 2: Tutor will read. Student will repeat.

    Step 3: Tutor will read as a conversation with the student.

    Step 4: Repeat for each page.
