    Establishment and Development of Vocational Training Centers for Sanitary inspector and

    Health Workers.

    Preamble:

    Presently LSCD Mumbai organizes training centers in different cities of the country. Almost all

    the cities of Gujarat have such centers. The Surat center is running since 2005. Every year we

    admit 120 Pre SI and 60 SI candidates. Even then we have merit list, which is not completed.

    Every year the Surat Center makes an income of about Rs.32 Lakhs against the expenditure of

    Rs.12 lakhs per annum..

    Proposal:

    Gujarat should accept this syllabus may be in tofu or as in modified form as one of the courses in

    ITI (Industrial Training Institute) affiliated to state technical Board. The Board can certify the

    passed successful candidates. The Govt. recognition will mandate the municipalities and

    Municipal Corporations of Gujarat to accept our trainees.

    Building:

    A building of about _____ ft2 will be needed. This should include following facilities.

    1. A parking place for trainees and faculty.

    2. Rooms: Two, for class rooms

    3. A hall to accommodate 500 people for general meets and general guest lectures.

    4. Office of the director (Principal)


    5. Chamber of the director (Principal)

    6. Toilet block

    7. Store

    8. Library

    9. Laboratory Two – 20ft2 per candidate

    10. Charts, Books, Instruments.

    It is estimated that every year Gujarat pays about Rs. _____________crores to LSGD. Why

    can’t we develop a course of our own? This will not only facilitate local people it will, create job

    opportunities for man in each city.

    Many such courses like fire officer, health and nutrition could also be appended at the same

    institution

    Every year we can have 3 to 5 days refresher courses for in service candidates to refresh and up

    date their knowledge and develop a feeling of fraternity.
