In 1957, Lennon and McCartney formed a band called The Quarrymen. In 1958, Harrison, who was only 15 years old, joined the band and they changed the name to The Beatles. In 1962, Ringo Starr became the band’s drummer. In 1963, Please, Please Me was number 1 in the British charts. Their music was completely different and young people liked it. The group became famous all over the world.
