Changing times are steadily demanding adoption of new approaches to management education
worldwide. NITIE’s pedagogy promotes an 'out-of the-box' attitude by seeking and nurturing contact
with the real business world. Classroom instructors, as also MDP trainers have established themselves
as successful consultants to industry and accomplished researchers in management. Faculty expertise
provides the students with an optimum blend of theory and practice. At NITIE, students are taught
methods that are effective both for entrepreneurs and for corporations in creating the cutting edge to
tackle today’s complex business problems. To help develop their acumen, analytical thinking and
intuitive approach is inculcated through a variety of teaching techniques and training methods, role play,
presentations, case studies, business games, simulation and hands-on business assignments, along with
class room lectures.
A distinguishing feature of the NITIE pedagogy is the summer project of two months and the final
industry internship that lasts four months. The objective of these practical management assignments is to
enable the students to integrate their classroom learning with the practical aspects of a live business.
Unique to all of NITIE’s post-graduate programmes, these hands-on management exercises challenge
the students (a) to provide the “client company” with fresh perspectives on their business problems, and
(b) to deliver acceptable and innovative solutions to the client. The successful projects typically lead
every year to attractive job offers with the client companies – a sign that the pedagogy is effective.
