To obtain the temporary bench mark we did the following steps:-

Step 1. We measured the height of the TBM with the help of the level mounted on top of the
tripod, this is (setup 1), which gives us the reading on the staff

Step 2. After taking the backsight of setup 1 to the TBM we take the foresight from setup 1 to
point 1.

Step 3. Move the equipment to another point (setup 2), we take the backsight to point 1, then the
height of the kerb, and then we take the foresight of point 2

Step 4. Move the equipment to another point (setup 3), we take the backsight to point 2, then we
take the foresight to point 3

Step 5. Move the equipment to another point (setup 4), we take the backsight to point 3, then the
height of the kerb, and then we take the foresight of point 4

Step 6. Move the equipment to another point (setup 5), we take the backsight to point 4, then the
height of the kerb, and then we take the foresight of point 5

Step 7. Move the equipment to another point (setup 6), we take the backsight to point 5, then we
take the foresight to point TBM
