Level of Award Age Minimum
Time Period Bronze 14 & above 6 months Silver 15 & above 12 months Gold 16 & above 18 months Can begin directly at higher levels SECTIONS OF THE AWARD (1) Service • Choose one form of service • Undertake necessary training, give regular practical service • At least 15 hours spread over 3 months
(2) Adventurous Journey
• Plan, train for and undertake a venture on foot, bicycle or water • Expedition or Exploration • 2 days out, 1 night in shelter or tent, at least 12 hours of effort and activity SECTIONS OF THE AWARD (3) Skills • Choose one skill • Follow regularly for minimum 6 months • Show individual progress and sustained interest, based on capabilities and potential
(4) Physical Recreation
• Follow regularly for 20 hours spread over 8 weeks • Show improvement of overall performance and genuine effort, relative to capabilities and starting point ASSESSMENT (1) Award Diary • Record thoughts and reflections as you go through programme
(2) Record Book
• Supervisors, instructors or assessors endorse after completing each section of the programme ENROLMENT • Inform form teacher by tomorrow
