The Annual Wooden Bridge Competition Students
Association
will be held during March of 2011. Build-
ing of the bridges will take place prior to
that (except for built-on-site competition).

The bridges are to have a span of two


meters, and the materials will be pro-
vided by the Civil Engineering Student

Why Bridges ?

Bridges are an essential part of the infrastructure


of any city. In Dubai, and the UAE in general,
there are many bridges which are vital to the
economy and act as an antidote to traffic prob-
lems all over the country. Therefore the building
of bridges, the importance of which is sometimes
shadowed by towers and sky-scrapers, is in fact
one of the most important parts of the civil engi-
