ORCOM 105 –Dynamics of Public Relations

Mini-workshops on Components of PR: Combining Theory and Practice

There are two deliverables for this:

1. a theoretical discussion on the assigned PR component (from library research—the theory part)
2. a case documentation of a real campaign/program on the assigned PR component (from
interview and company research—the practice part)

Guidelines
a. Maximum 40 minutes per mini-workshop, including preparation and activities for audience, if any

b. Deduction from group grade will be given to any team that will exceed the allotted time

c. Presenters must be in business attire

d. Hand-outs on the topic must be distributed to the audience, including copies of the case
documentation

e. Maximum 3 pages for the case documentation of a real campaign/program by a PR agency,


company, or organization on the assigned PR component

f. The case documentation must detail the following:


1. Problem, issue, or opportunity
2. Objectives of the PR program/campaign
3. Target public/s
4. Key messages
5. Implementation (including challenges and how they were overcome)
6. Success measures

g. Copy of the case documentation must be submitted to me at the start of the mini-workshop
