The following slides will show you how to properly attach MOLLE pouches to your H‐Harness.
Your Squadron SOP’s and your current mission will dictate what pouches you would use and
were your pouches will be positioned.
This picture shows an M4 Double Mag Pouch lying on the harness where it is to be mounted.
You are looking at the backside of the pouch. Note the 2 attachment straps which snap onto
the pouch at the bottom (red arrows) and also note the 2 horizontal webbing strips on the
pouch (blue arrows) which line up with the spaces between the webbing on the harness
(yellow arrows).
•First step is to un‐snap the attachment
straps on the pouch and pull them out from
under the horizontal straps.
•Feed the attachment straps through two
channels of the webbing on the harness, be
sure only to go through one strap.
•Bend the attachment straps back up and
feed them through the channels in the first
strap on the pouch’s backside.
•Bring the attachment straps back down and
feed them through the next lowest row of
webbing on the harness.
•Feed the attachment straps through the
final row of webbing on the back of the
pouch and the harness then snap them back
into place.
•Here is a picture of the pouch now attached to the harness. Also see in the second picture,
looking at the side, how the attachment straps fed back‐and‐forth through the webbing on
the harness and the back of the pouch.
•As you can see, the idea of the MOLLE attachment method is to weave the attachment
strap between the vest and the pouch itself. This creates the same basic connection as
sewing a simple stitch to join 2 pieces of fabric, and allows the pouch to sit securely and not
move from side to side or up and down on the rig.
•All of your MOLLE pouches will be attached the same way and will use more
straps/channels if the pouches are bigger.
•The next slide has pictures of how to attach your Hydration pouch to the back of your H‐
Harness if it is required. This will give you the capability to always have your pouch attached
to carry your water bladder and ease of putting on your Multi‐Mission‐Pack (MMP).
•In the first picture you have your H‐Harness and hydration pouch with the shoulder straps
taken off. Also notice how long the two attachment straps are (red arrow). Those straps will
weave through the two outer channels (blue arrows) and snap at the end of the pouch. The
second pictures shows the complete attachment.
•The next two slides will show you how to put your CTP1‐L protective insert together and
insert it into your canteen pouch. The CTP1‐L insert is used to secure you’re AN/PVS‐14
night vision devise while you are not using it so it does not dangle from your neck.
•Connect all of the velcro sides on the CTP1‐L together (red arrows) so they make a “cup”
size holder to fit in the canteen pouch (blue arrows).
•Insert the CTP1‐L into the canteen holder (red arrow). You will notice a strip of velcro on
the back of the CTP1‐L and another strip of velcro inside the back of the canteen holder.
Those two peaces will connect to secure the CTP1‐L in the canteen holder.
ADJUSTING THE WAIST
•Along with adjusting your “Quick Release” buckles you can adjust the waist on the sides of
the H‐Harness. The next few slides will show you how to adjust them.
•Open the waist from the bottom of the harness to expose the adjustable side strap (red
arrow). Everything has velcro on it for the ease of quick and secure adjustments.
•Next remove the adjustable strap (blue arrow)
•Attach the adjustable strap in a position that will be comfortable for you to wear (red
arrow)
•Next secure the velcro waist back into its original position (blue arrow)
•Complete the adjustment by doing the same thing to the opposite side of the waist.
•You can adjust the waist to be as tight as you want (red arrow) or as big as you want (blue
arrow)
