Women’s History Month 2010 Opening Ceremonies

WHO: The Yellow Rose Society in conjunction with the Office of Academic Enhancement.
Yellow Rose is a student organization that has promoted academic achievement,
leadership, and self-enrichment among women at the University of Miami since 1990.

WHAT: Fourth Annual Women’s History Month Opening Ceremonies featuring guest speaker,
Dr. Cole Avent, Ph.D. A preview of Women’s History Month 2010: “Women of the
World” will be given and a light meal offered to all guests. The topics of discussion
include minority women’s success in the medical field despite facing adversity.

WHERE: Student Lounge, University of Miami School of Law, Coral Gables, Fla.

WHEN: March 2, 2010; 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. EST

WHY: Women’s History Month 2010 carries the theme “Women of the World.” The diverse
following of the Yellow Rose Society and the female figures that will be honored reflect
that theme. This year, Women’s History Month will consist of traditional programs, as
well as innovative programs. The details will be covered at Opening Ceremonies.
