Puthige Document- 2011

The declaration of forging ahead program on the Valedictory Session of the Three
Day International Conference on Decoding Veda Vidya and Traditional Resources
for Rediscovering Indian Scientific Heritage during 21-23rd January, 2011 jointly
organized under the auspices of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed
University), New Delhi by Sri Vadiraja Research Foundation, Puthige and
Foundation for Indian Scientific Heritage, Suratkal is drafted under the divine
guidance of Parama Pujya Sri Sri Sugunendratheertha Swaminah. The entire
Conference is electronically documented.

Recent research on the Vedas and Vedic Literature has been emerging with
insights into Physical Sciences like Physics, Chemistry, and Botany and also into
the Social Sciences like Sociology and Economics. This declaration embodies such
insightful observations, suggestions and directions of the paper presenters,
participant scholars, the Session Chair Persons and Chief Guests along with the
Moderating Chair Persons during the interactions supervised by Prof. Dr. V.R
Panchamukhi, the Chairman of the Conference Conclave.

The decoding and rediscovery of Vedic Heritage of Bharatam is to accomplish


shree, Vijaya, bhuti and dhruva niti for the benefit of humanity. Vedic Heritage
means and includes all traditional resources of Bharatam. That is, the orally
transferred Vedas, Upa Vedas, Shadangas, Itihasas, Puranas and Shastras available
in regional languages besides in Sanskrit, Inscriptions and all valuable
manuscripts.

The Declared Objectives of this Conference are:

i) To create and perpetuate heritage awareness among the public regarding


Science in the Vedas, in other words Vedic Sciences.

ii) To restore the credit to Vedic knowledge system that has been lost over ages.

iii) To demonstrate how Vedic Science is useful for the contemporary Science.

iv)To document research already done and to encourage further explorations in
the domain of Vedic Sciences.

v) To synergize the efforts of Vedic Science researchers and to form a National


Association for Ancient Indian Science.

vi)To constitute an OPEN CORE TEAM of traditional scholars and modern


scientists who have Vedic research orientation to serve the purpose of decoding
and rediscovery of Bharateeya Heritage.

vii)To streamline time bound research projects to gather data, to conduct surveys,
to follow any other empirical procedures

viii) To introduce study of Sanskrit and Vedic Science in IITs, Engineering Colleges
and Universities in the curriculum.

ix)To urge the state and centre governments to make computer enabled Sanskrit
a compulsory subject/language as it is the National Heritage Language, especially
of Vedic Sciences ( as the growing evidence of research output demands
necessary educational policy amendment.)at all levels in the schools and colleges.

x)To seek allocation of funds by the governments and funding agencies for
conducting research in Vedic Sciences.

xi)To form a publications editorial team:

To start a Quarterly National Journal on Vedic Sciences as a joint venture of Sri


Vadiraja Research Foundation, Puthige and Foundation for Indian Scientific
Heritage, Suratkal along with other willing Institutions, to take care of heritage
awareness campaign through weekly booklets (30-40 pages) of specific themes on
Vedic Sciences, contributing articles to news papers and periodicals in all regional
languages, to arrange special time slots in the TV media for Vedic Sciences.

To conduct Work Shops, Orientation Programs and Refresher Courses on Veda


Samshodhana Vidhanam (Vedic Research Methodology) for researchers,
scholars and teachers (at all levels).

To create research topics for M.Phil and Ph.D programs in interdisciplinary and
multidisciplinary domains of Veda Vidya and Modern Sciences.

To create K.G to P.G Heritage Syllabi.

xii)To facilitate Memorandum of Understanding to undertake result oriented joint


ventures of Vedic Sciences research by interested institutions.

xiii) To move memoranda related to implementation of Vedic Model of


Development, Vedic Value System, restraining excessive consumerism, preventing
corruption, preserving Indian cultural identity to all concerned in administration
of government bodies, Indian and State Administrative Services.

xiv) To promote online activities of serious discussions and healthy debates on


Vedic Sciences.

xv) To conduct E-Learning Certificate/Diploma Courses on Vedic Sciences.

Sri Vadiraja Research Foundation, Puthige and Foundation for Indian Scientific
Heritage, Suratkal jointly declare to uphold the Global Motto “Veda Vidya for
World Peace” as announced by Parama Pujya Sri Sri Sugunendratheertha
Swaminah of Puthige Matha, Udupi in the concluding valedictory remarks during
Benedictory Address on 23-01-2011, and with His Approval this document is
