Amnesty International USA is currently recruiting for

Regional Action Networks (RAN)!!!


South Asia, South East Asia, Central Africa, West Africa

Interested in one of these regions? Have some expertise you’d like to contribute? Interested in
committing to on one region for a year or more? If so, you may qualify!
What is a RAN and what would you be doing?
A RAN is a group of dedicated activists (individuals or groups, community or campus) who collaborate
with their RAN Coordinator to address human rights concerns in a particular region. Actions may range
from petitions to letter writing, public events, out-reach to the émigré communities and beyond.
What are some of AI’s concerns?
Political killings, corporate abuses, rape as a weapon of war, freedom of speech and more

Which countries are in each Regional Action Network?


1. South Asia RAN includes India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka
2. Southeast Asia RAN includes Myanmar(Burma), Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, The
Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore,
Malaysia, Brunei, Micronesia, Samoa and the Pacific Islands.
3. Central Africa RAN includes Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic
Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of Congo and Rwanda.
4. West Africa RAN includes Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire,
Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
