SMB levels series with 91-87 win over TnT

MANILA, Philippines – In the end, it

took the retiring Olsen Racela to help
the San Miguel Beermen level their
series with Talk ‘n Text, 91-87, in game
4 of the PBA Philippine Cup at the
Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon
City.

Racela made four free throws in the

closing seconds of the game to hold off
a pesky TnT squad who fought back
from a listless first half.

Racela’s heroics helped save the

Beermen from a costly collapse after leading at halftime by 11 points.

Three pointers from Jimmy Alapag, Ranidel de Ocampo and the comebacking Ryan Reyes
helped the Texters come back from an energized SMB squad.

Another veteran, Danny Ildefonso, starred once again for the Beermen through key plays
throughout the game. Ildefonso had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jay Washington, Alex Cabagnot and Arwind Santos also turned out great performances but it
was the SMB defense that helped the team’s cause.

The series has now been cut into a best of three affair with a pivotal game 5 set to be played this
coming Wednesday.
