 Apart from natural disaster, some cities in


India are also vulnerable to chemical and
industrials disaster and man-made disaster.

 It was dedicated to promoting solution to


reduce risk from natural hazards.

It is for social vulnerability and risk of natural
hazards.
 Systematic development and application of
policies.
 Govt. of India established the NCDM.
 Govt. of India recommend to state for

disaster management.
 Specialized search and rescue team to be

formed .
 Control room to be setup at state level .
 Disaster preparedness aim at minimize
adverse effect of a hazard.
 Through effective precautionary action.
 Vulnerability analysis and mapping to include

resources.
 People cooperation through political leaders,

volunteers and NGO’s.


 Create a culture of preparedness and

prevention .
 People – Individuals, households, volunteers.
 Gram panchayt – sarpanch, panch , secretary,

etc.
 Village elder –experienced persons, teachers,

student, social committee, etc.


 Govt. offices – agriculture, medical , police,

NGO’s.
 We need to bring awareness among the
people regarding the earthquake, cyclone and
other disaster . It will help a great deal in
reducing the public fear.
 Investment in preparedness and prevention

will make good result rather than spending


money on relief after disaster.
