What Every

Filipina
Christian
Lady
Need to
Know
Worship Team Series 2011
“ If your clothing is
a frame  for  your
face,
from which the
glory  of Christ
springs ...
If your clothing
 is a frame  for
your  body,
it is sensual and
God  hates it”
Standards of dress change over
time and are different from
church to church, but we
should avoid any style of dress
that is offensive or sends a
message opposing the church
community's values.
The Following are NOT
to wear inside the church:
MEN ARE VISUALLY MOTIVATED
Whether you realize it or not, men look at
certain portions of the body; and it doesn’t
matter whether you think that is good, bad, or
otherwise, they are going to do it. And if you
wear clothing that attracts attention to that,
you are just helping them in their sin. That’s
why a dress, unless it’s too tight, is better than
pants; because a dress does not draw the
attention to that part of the body that people
look at and lust after.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience, and
our bodies washed with pure water.
- Hebrews 10:22
About Cross-Dressing
A woman must not wear men's
clothing, nor a man wear
women's clothing, for the LORD
your God detests anyone who
does this.
(NIV, Deuteronomy 22:5)
I also want women to dress modestly,
with decency and propriety, not with
braided hair or gold or pearls or
expensive clothes, but with good deeds,
appropriate for women who profess to
worship God.   (NIV, 1 Timothy 2:9-10)
Your beauty should
not come from
outward adornment,
such as braided hair
and the wearing of
gold jewelry and
fine clothes. Instead,
it should be that of
your inner self, the
unfading beauty of a
gentle and quiet
spirit, which is of
great worth in God's
sight. For this is the
Any man who prays or
prophesies with
something on his head
disgraces his head, but
any woman who prays
or prophesies with her
head unveiled
disgraces her head--it
is one and the same
thing as having her
head shaved. For if a
woman will not veil
herself, then she
should cut off her hair;
but if it is disgraceful
A woman's veil was a
symbol of her
modesty and respect
for her husband.
