Neural Networks

Neural Networks:
A neural network is a massively
parallel distribution processor made up of
simple processing unit, which has a neural
propensity for storing experimental knowledge
and making it available for use.

It resembles the brain in two respects:


1. Knowledge is acquired by the network form
it’s environmental through a learning
process.
2. Interneuron connection strengths, known
as synaptic weights, are to store the
acquired knowledge.

Artificial neural networks commonly referred to as


“neural networks”. Neural network are also referred to in
literature as neurocomputers, connectionist,
parallel distributed processors, etc.

Benefits of neural networks:

1. Nonlinearity:
A neural network, made up an
interconnection of nonlinear neurons, is itself nonlinear.
Moreover, the nonlinearity is of a special kind in the sense
that it is distributed throughout the network.
