Check list of control valves

1. List down all control valve tags from P&IDs

2. Reference documents

a) P & ID (P&ID number, Line number, FO/FC condition, rating, any

notes)

b) Process data (Flow, Pressure loss, Pressure & Temp.(Max./Operation.),

Density / MW, Cp/Cv)

c) Design Basis (Project & Instrumentation)

d) Piping specification (Material, Painting & inspection, pressure rating,

Nace)

e) General specification for control valves

3. Take ISA data sheet for control valve or Block 5 blank data sheet

4. Fill the column, which are self-explanatory.

5. Calculate Cv from control valve program

6. Select type of valve, globe or butterfly or ball Select valve size as per Cv

calculated.

7. Check for any accessory required.

8. Select body material as per piping specification. Trim material as per pipe

specification.

9. Float the enquiry

10. Analyze the bids for acceptable vendor sizes.

11. Send recommendation

12. Make Purchase specification

13. Do vendor drawing check

1. Body size, rating, material, model

2. Cv

3. Trim type and material

4. Actuator model check

5. Pneumatic, Electrical connection check

6. Nace, NDE & Painting

7. 3rd party inspection

8. Accessories regulator, solenoid, Limit S/W check
