Experiment : 02

Title : Single Ended Amplifier

Objective :By the end of this session.student will be able to ;

i. Identify the type of transistor

ii. Measure VB,Vc,VE,

Equipment : i. Variable DC power supply

ii. Digital multimeter

iii. Function generator

iv. Resistor R1=47kΩ,R2=12kΩ,R3=2.2kΩ,R4=560Ω,Capasitor
C1&C2=10uf ×2,C3=220uF,Transistor BC107 and jumper wire.

Procedure :

1. Connect a circuit as shown in diagram 1.

2. Measure the dc voltage between the base of TR1 and ground record as VB,
3. Measure the dc voltage between the emitter of TR1 and ground record as VE,
4. Measure the dc voltage between the collector of TR1 and ground record as VC
5. Remove R1 connection and repeat procedure 2 until 4.
6. Reconnect R1 into the circuit and remove R2. Repeat procedure 2 until 4
7. Repeat procedure 5 and 6 for R3,R4 and C1&C2.
8. Record your value in Table 1.

According to the value of Vb,Vc,and R3 is opened,give your explanation.

VB = R2 + VCC = 12 KΩ
R1+R2

VC = VCC – VRC IE = VE = 1.74

= 12 – (IC)(RC) RE 560
= (3.1mA)(2.2k)
=5.16V

VE = VB – VBE
=2.44 – 0.7
=1.74

So,
When R3 is opened we can observed that Vb,Vc, different with the normal. It’s because
when one of R3 opened so current cannot flow through it and this situation make Vb,Vc and Ve
measured be different.

2. With a aid of diagram identify the type of transistor.

When C1&C2 opened we can analyses that C1&C2 are passes the current to the ground.
 By the way,current that we have from Vb,Vc and, Ve is 0. It’s because no currentcan flow through
it.

Conclusion :

From this experiment we can conclude that when one of resistor were opened, current
that flow are differentfrom each other and when capasitor were open the result shown as 0.
