Location shots analysis

By Joe Melarkey
This is what we think will be the opening shot, we made sure
that we didn’t get any of the school fences or anything to do
with a school, because this is meant to be a mental health
hospital.
This is the second shot and shows the character, who will be
dressed in hospital clothes, it shows him stumbling and hitting
into trees because he is still drugged up from the hospital.
This shot is him stumbling over this wall, I believe this shot will
indicate how much he is on drugs.
This is what we are going to use as the mental hospital, we think it
works quite well as an asylum as the building is old and will look
quite scary at night.
When our character walks along this road we need to make sure we
place the camera carefully as there is houses on either side of this
road.
For this shot we think it could work well but we are probably
going to need lighting if we shoot at night. For this shot we will
use point of view, to make the audience feel a part of the action.
We aren’t sure how we are going to shoot this, and from what
angle we are going to shoot it. But we are definitely going to use
this building as it works well for the style of film we are doing.
This shot will be from a low angle to make it seem that he is in a
position of power, but this will be contradicted by the fact that he
will be scrambling up the mud wall.
This lane will be good to use although lighting may be an issue.
We chose mainly to use long shots for the location shots, just
because they are easy; in the filming we will use a wide variety
of shots.
