The images above are of our actress and the actress from the film ‘Jaws’. These are connected as they are both female protagonists and are both in danger in their respective films. This represents women as weaker and more vulnerable to attack from a villain which gives a stereotypical view of women. The images above are of our villain and the villain, ‘John Doe’, from the film ‘Se7en’. These are connected as they are both male villains and are both considered strong and powerful just like the stereotypical male. • The characters we have chosen follow social groups and stereotypes as we represent women as vulnerable to the attack of stronger and more powerful men. However we go against the conventions of thrillers as we have both the villain and protagonist falling victim to the actions of the villain and dying in the end of the film so neither are considered more powerful. We thought it would be right to star a female actress aged over 20 as this would make the opening more professional as it is not using people too young and also she can connect with the target audience through her stereotypical behaviour that is evident in people over 20. Finally we chose a male over 20 for the same reasons as this also makes it professional and connects with the audience.
