Sir William Lucas felt that he should start fresh in a new town as his old money wasn’t as cleaned.

“Lady Lucas was a very good kind of woman, not too clever to be a valuable neighbor to Mrs. Bennet.”

 Mr Darcy has a right to have a high opinion of himself, hence pride. He isn’t vein in a sense as he
cares really little what people think of him, yet he is happy to share his success stories.
 This distinguishes the difference perception of pride and vanity in the novel. However, it is still
frowned upon to show pride.
