 Product Features

The MP515ST projector, with a new generation, short-throw projection lens developed by
Qisda, resolves the setup issues in conference rooms, classrooms, and in home entertainment
applications. In addition, High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) and 10W speakers
provide the best audio /video experience in this category. The SP920p projector, with new

BenQ Projectors
 BenQ is the first to produce DLP projectors with lens-shift
technology loaded in their low-middle priced projectors. BenQ was
also one of the first companies to produce 1 pound micro-portable
projectors.

Canon Projectors
 Canon produces high-resolution, portable projectors that use industry
leading technology that give Canon projectors a competitive edge.

 Canon projectors provide adequate brightness and sharp picture for


presentations and home theater use.

 LCD and LCoS technology is used in Canon projectors. Specifically,


Canon offers LCoS projectors like the REALiS WUX10 Mark II D
that is loaded with high performance WUXGA 1920 x 1200
resolution, used for the purpose of reproducing medical images in
high resolution detail. This is a testament to the scientific innovations
of Canon projector technology.

Dell Projectors
 Dell projectors are loaded with DLP technology. The innovations of
the DLP chip deliver consistent picture quality, reliability, and are
relatively inexpensive.

 Dell projectors boast a filter-free design, which translates to lower


maintenance requirements and other savings associated with usage.

 DLP projectors can process more colors than LCD projectors which
results in vibrant color, brightness, and sharper picture.

 The pros I can see from my recent reviews of Dell projectors are high
contrast, excellent brightness, and honest price-point. The cons are
issues with color balance, operating noise, and start-up speed.

Epson Projectors
 Epson projectors use LCD technology and manufacture the LCD panels for its
competition including Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Panasonic, and several others. Epson uniquely
offers all-in-one projector systems such as their MovieMate line, as well as complete
Epson home theater systems including: the Epson projector, the projector screen,
speakers, and a DVD player - check out the Epson Ensemble HDs.

 Epson has long been a dominant player the market for projectors, both home
theater projectors and business projectors. Epson, as a manufacturer, provides
the LCD panels that are used in almost every other brand of LCD projectors.

 Epson has established themselves as the leader in all-in-one home projectors,


with the Epson Moviemate 72 being the most advanced on the market, with
great picture quality and good audio performance. The less expensive
MovieMate 55 provides impressive performance at a lower price point (under
$700).

 On the business side, Epson makes the most powerful under 4 pound portable
projectors, in addition Epson offers some of the most advanced and best
projectors for business and schools. Epson's complete home theater solutions,
the Ensemble HD series, received our top award - Outstanding Product of 2008,
and may well revolutionize the industry!

Epson Projectors
 Hitachi is one of the top selling brands for office projectors and
classroom projectors on the market. Hitachi does not dabble in home
theater projectors.

 Hitachi projectors range from small and portable projectors, to


industrial grade. Hitachi focuses on producing quality education
projectors for K12 schools and universities. Hitachi projectors, like
Edison, prefer LCD technology. For an office with limited space,
Hitachi Ultra Short Throw Projectors produce large images in a
confined area. The Professional Series Hitachi projectors can project
images up to 700 inches with high resolution.

InFocus Projectors
 InFocus is the most recognizable projector brand in the United States. A decade
ago, Infocus was so notorious that their brand became a generic name for
projectors, as Kleenex is to tissues.

 In 2009, InFocus was acquired and is now only manufacturing home theater
projectors, office projectors, and classroom projectors.

 InFocus projectors are highly regarded within the industry. Their business class
LCD display panels are designed for conference rooms and are compatible with
PCs and other video modes. Infocus 1080p projectors feature high-definition
image quality and a 3 year warranty .Infocus education projectors produces
clear picture quality within brightly-lit rooms along with easy connectivity to
DVD, computer, and or document camera.

 In May 2009, acquired by Imaging Holdings, indirectly owned by co-founder


of eMachine. John Hui. Was public listed in NASDAK and now privately
owned.

InFocus Projectors
 Steve Stark (Vice President Engineering) Steve Stark began his tenure at InFocus in 1992 in a
manufacturing engineering leadership role and spent the last 10 years in R&D as a Design Engineer
and Projection Display Architect, directing the development of many of InFocus' innovative
consumer and professional products. Prior to joining InFocus, Stark held a variety of design and test
engineering positions for 17 years at Tektronix; as Product Line Director at Tektronix, he managed
the development, manufacture, and marketing of high speed mixed signal integrated circuits. As Vice
President of Engineering at InFocus, Stark is responsible for the development of technologies and
design offered by all InFocus products. He oversees internal and development partner resources
including design engineering, quality engineering, program management, and technology. He holds a
BS degree in Electronics Engineering, has completed continuing programs in Engineering and
Technology Management, and is the author of several patents in the InFocus technology portfolio.
Stark resides in Beaverton, Oregon with his wife, Barbara. They enjoy outdoor-oriented activities
such as sailing, backpacking, and equestrian jumping.

 David Woolf (Vice President Global Marketing) David Woolf has more than 15 years experience
creating, developing, managing, and marketing digital projectors, plasma displays, LCD monitors
and oscilloscopes to professional, public, and consumer markets for InFocus, NEC, and Tektronix.
Woolf began his career as a technology consultant for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and has
since held a variety of senior-level positions in product line management, marketing, and service.
Woolf joined InFocus in 2007 and currently serves as Vice President of Marketing; he is responsible
for product management, product planning, product marketing, public relations, channel marketing,
and marketing communications. He holds a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA
from the University of Oregon. Woolf lives in the Portland area with his wife and three young
children.

JVC Projectors
 JVC manufactures top-rated home theater projectors that are first in
its class. JVC also produces digital cinema projectors, office

 Mitsubishi is a major producer of home theater projectors, office projectors,
and classroom projectors. Mitsubishi is notorious for its commercial grade

 Mitsubishi home theater systems range from 720p up to 1080p projector


resolution. The elegant design of their HD 1080p projectors are loaded
with: better black levels, an innovative diamond shaped optical iris and auto

compatibility, and boost a contrast ratio up to 72,000:1 for premium

NEC Projectors
 NEC projectors offer twenty large screen displays in crystal clear images with
wonderful consistency. NEC projectors are known in the market for sharp
picture with many industry awards.

 NEC has a portable projector series price from $680 to $999 that are loaded with
features like: short throw lens that eliminates tradition shadows and projector
light in the presenter's eyes, extended projector lamp life, virtual remote from a
computer, closed-captioning, built-in speaker system, and a wide input panel.

 The NEC portable projector series range from $740 to $900 that includes
features like: HDMI input connectivity, USB PC compatibility, audio-outs, ECO
mode for extended lamp life, and dual computer inputs for multiple presenters.

 NEC offers commercial grade projectors that range from $1,900 to $5,500,
which are design for very bright output in large venues and larger sized screens.

Optoma Projectors
 Optoma is a successful Taiwanese manufacturer of business projectors, classroon projectors, and quality home
theater projectors. Optoma projectors are loaded with DLP technology and boost specifications such as: brilliant
color, bright images, rapid on-off feature, password protection, and a vast range of connectivity options.

 Remote access is an advanced technology that can be found in Optoma projectors, including: message broadcast
over a network, remote management and control, and built-in security management. Optoma home theater
1080p projectors include 1080p high-definition picture, bright images, and specifications to enhance video for
movies, sports, and gaming. Optoma projectors can support 300 inch display screens and are loaded with TI
DLP chipset and their trademark BrillianColor technology. HDMI x2 components for projector compatibility
with Xbox, PS3, satellite, cable, and Blu-ray DVD. Optoma is one of the world's largest manufacturers of DLP
projectors. Not only are they one of the best selling brands in the world, but their manufacturing arm has
manufactured projectors for other well known brands, including HP/Compaq and Dell. The Optoma lineup
includes about 10 different portable projectors, plus their home theater projector lineup. Optoma is perhaps the
most dominant manufacturer of home theater projectors, with an extensive line of top performers. We have
reviewed a number of them, and every one has amazingly received our Hot Product Award. In addition, their
HD7100, selling for under $3000, is by far, the least expensive home theater projector using the most advanced
DLP chip, the Darkchip3. In addition, they have launched one of the very first 1080p resolution home theater
projectors, the HD81, an enhanced version of the HD7100 with external processor, and for portable or basic
home entertainment, their MovieTime DV10 is the best selling all-in-one home theater projector with built in
speakers and DVD player, and comes with a subwoofer too, for less than $1000.Optoma's business projector
lineup features more than a half dozen models, including some of the smallest and lightest weight hi
performance models. Whether you need a lightweight powerful projector for the road, or one ideal for installing

 Panasonic produces a wide range of projectors, ranging from portable
projectors to commercial-grade projectors. Panasonic has been the dominating
force in the industry of home theater projector systems, classroom projectors,
and offices projectors for small to large presentation rooms. Panasonic offers
the best-selling 720p projectors and 1080p projectors in the United States.

 For Panasonic business and education models, it seems to be reducing the


output of small, portable projectors, while concentrating on the industrial
commercial end. Panasonic is a titan brand that leads the market in quality
commercial projector systems. Panasonic projectors use LCD and DLP
technology in their models. They also offer mobile projectors and fixed-install
projectors for conference rooms and lecture halls.

 Panasonic projectors boost: detailed clarity with its image-processing circuit,


vivid color display, reliable and continuous lamp operation, multi-screen
displays, and geometric adjustments for projecting on curved surfaces.

Sanyo Projectors
 Sanyo projectors are found in offices, conference rooms, churches, and home

 Sharp produces business projectors, classroom projectors, and projectors for
government facilities. Sharp has moved away from home theater projectors

 Sharp projectors range from portable and light-weight to industrial


specifications for auditoriums and conference rooms. Though Sharp shines
in the office projector arena, we have still awarded them for their quality
home theater projectors. This is a true quality brand.

 Sharp classroom projectors are now 3D-Ready, which is very exciting for
the education world, as test scores seem to increase when classroom lessons
are presented in 3D. 3D projectors will also benefit medical, architectural,
gaming, and engineering presentations. Museums and tradeshows can also

 Sony is the most recognizable brand out there. Sony produces
