CASE OBJECTIVES

TO THE SPECTATORS:

After 1 hour and 30 minutes of case presentation, the spectators will be able to:

1. Identify description, important considerations, mortality and morbidity rate of


patient’s diagnosis as introduced in the first part of the presentation.

2. Enumerate unusual terms that will be encountered in the whole presentation and
be able to define each for further understanding of the case through Definition of
Terms.

3. Verbalize understanding of the case presenters’ patient’s vital information, history


of past and present illness, family history and her diagnosis.

4. Describe patient’s pattern of nutrition such as appetite, elimination pattern,


exercise, coping stress management, values and beliefs to have basis of
predisposing factors that possibly caused the ailment and to differentiate each
category’s changes prior and during admission through Gordon’s Assessment.

5. Verbalize understanding of the Normal Anatomy and Physiology of the systems


involved in the disease process.

6. Enumerate by system’s manifestations brought about the disease process of the


ailment through Physical Examination and Review of Systems.

7. Enumerate corresponding diagnostic test applicable for the patient’s case.

8. Trace the disease process of the diagnosis made to the risk factors and how
such manifestations were known.

9. Enumerate nursing diagnosis of patient’s identified problems and may know


prioritized nursing care applicable to the case through Nursing Care Plans.

10. Identify plans of discharge and health education applicable for the patient’s
further desired recovery.

11. Identify the patient’s prognosis based on her development and reaction to her
treatments.

TO THE PRESENTORS:

After 1 hour and 30 minutes of case presentation, the presentors will be able to:

1. Impart to the spectators effective teaching strategy that would increase their
attention span through using other type of teaching strategy such as role playing.

2. Discuss to the spectators effectively the parts of the case presentation from the
introduction until the prognosis of the patient’s case.

3. Encourage participation and interaction from the spectators for learning


purposes.
4. Answer competently the questions raised for clarifications, corrections and
learning purposes.
