News Release
Southbound Ammunition Seized
1,100 Rounds of Ammunition Stopped from Going South
TUCSON, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents were able to intercept 1,100 rounds of ammunition headed for
Mexico Saturday.

Nogales Station agents responded to camera traffic and saw two individuals climbing over the
International Boundary Fence into Mexico. After a thorough search of the area, agents discovered an
abandoned bag containing 1,100 rounds of ammunition. The ammunition was taken to the Nogales
Station for processing.

“This seizure is a perfect example of how our agents use detection technology to prevent criminal
activity,” stated Chief Patrol Agent Randy Hill. “It is increasingly difficult for smugglers to transport
contraband in either direction across the US/Mexican International border.”

The Border Patrol continues to rely on the community to assist. Should you see any suspicious
activity please report it by calling our toll free number at 1-877-872-7435. All calls will be answered
and will remain anonymous.
