2011 INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY CELEBRATION

APPEAL FOR SPONSORSHIP

The Non-Formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education has over the years, been
carrying out adult literacy education in line with the government policy of reducing poverty and
illiteracy rate in the country.

The Division in the Region is privileged to organize and host this memorable and historical event
in Kumasi under the auspices of the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) in honour of
His Eminence Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II the Asantehene with His Excellency the Vice
President of the Republic of Ghana Mr. John Dramani Mahama as the Special Guest of Honour.

The national literacy day celebration is characterized with a lot of activities which include clean
up exercise, symposium on the importance of Adult education, reading competition among adult
learners, and a float through the principal streets of Kumasi to create awareness of illiteracy and
poverty reduction; which will be climaxed by an open day celebration as well as an exhibition of
products by the division at the Prempeh Assembly Hall on the 8th of September 2011.

We humbly wish to appeal to your company to assist the Division in whatever way to enable us
celebrate the occasion.
