Introduction
• Google Chrome OS is an upcoming Linux-
based, open source  Operating system
designed by Google to work exclusively
with web applications Announced on July 7,
2009. Google Chrome OS is aimed at users
who spend most of their time on the Internet.
Need of Chrome OS
• Unlike the most used OS -Windows OS and
Mac, Chrome will be Open Source.
• The Source code of Chrome OS will be
available to developers in form of Chromium
OS
• Now the future of softwares is in open
source,so google just thought to introduce a
new OS.
What’s new
• Tabs-Chrome will use multiple tabs instead of
multiple windows similar to Google’s own
browser Google Chrome.
• Made for netbooks
• Cloud computing
(Cloud computing is Internet -based computing,
whereby shared resources, software, and
information are provided to computers and other
devices on demand )
