Through a Soldier's Eyes is a collaborative project between Rowan Public Library and Waterworks Visual Arts Center to honor and illustrate the Vietnam experiences of Rowan County servicemen and women. Photographs and oral histories will be collected at Rowan Public Library events in March, April, May, and June, culminating in a photography exhibit at Waterworks in August 2011. Community members are invited to participate by sharing their memories, photographs, diaries, and other artifacts from their service in Vietnam with library staff.

Rowan Public Library Arts Center invites community members to participate by sharing memories, photographs, Headquarters diaries, drawings and other artifacts from their March 4 and 5 10am-4pm service in Vietnam. Frank T. Tadlock Participants can share stories with a library staff South Rowan Regional Library April 2 10am-4pm member, by appointment, or use a specially- designed sound booth to record on their own. East Branch May 7 10am-4pm It’s easy to record a memory or story in the sound booth— you can even bring a friend or Headquarters family member to help you or act as an May 27 and 28 10am-4pm interviewer.
