Rotavirus, also known as Diarrhea, is a spherical, wheel-shaped virus that causes fever, nausea, vomiting, cramps and frequent diarrhea in infants and toddlers. It spreads through the fecal-oral route of transmission by touching infected surfaces and putting hands in the mouth, or through poor hygiene. To treat symptoms, increase fluid intake to prevent dehydration and use over-the-counter medicine, or get vaccinated with RotaTeq or Rotarix.
