    Roundworms are nematodes that have complete digestive systems with mouths and anuses. They range in size from less than 1 millimeter to over 1 meter in length and can live in soil, mud, water, and as parasites in plants and animals. Many roundworms are important for decomposition but some like hookworms, pinworms, intestinal worms, filaria, and trichina are parasites that can cause diseases like elephantiasis and trichinosis in their life cycles within hosts.
