    Cermet is a composite material composed of both metals and ceramics. It is used where properties of both metals and ceramics are needed, such as resistance to corrosion and good conductivity. Cermet has high thermal and electrical conductivity compared to ceramic alone. It also has very high melting and boiling points due to its composite elemental makeup. Cermet is used for applications like turning sprockets.
