When the stars align The freight train, the bald eagle Against the sunset, this city's skyline.
I suppose it's worth noting
When you have beaten the lies and jumped the line Late in the day, nude to the new world Faced the sunlight with a trained mind.
One evening, with a friend and a dog
I stood on the mound to wait, an inner god to awake To awake and untangle my knotted crest With his freight train running, his sunset His eagle above the rest.
You are worth noting, your story worth telling
For all this, I cannot offer a dime But, here are some dots to connect, and Your stars to align.
