HEARING CONSERVATION - NOISE LEVEL

LEGISLATION - R7 ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS

STANDARD: Noise levels not to exceed 85 dB(A). In determining the Action Required consider the
following action or combination of actions:

1. To declare the area a noise zone.

2. To eliminate or reduce the noise at source.
3. To isolate the source of noise acoustically.
4. To provide hearing protectors to each employee.
5. To provide hearing protectors and limit employee exposure in
terms of time where the attenuation of the protectors does not
reduce the noise level below 85 dB(A).
