I also researched into who the man in
the picture was and weather the piece
is a portrait or memorial painting. This
would tell the viewer weather the
artist was is favor of Maras views or
opposed. The Well know activist,
doctor and journalist was assassinated
In July 1973.

• His Style was influenced by the Cultural and political times of the French revolution dating
1789 – 1799, Not only was this a time of severe upheaval in the daily lives of everyday French
men and women, but directly influenced the artists paintings, especially the Mara piece.
Upon researching it became evident that the piece was paying respect to the assassinated
French man.
