The schools of thoughts are descriptive, rational, rational, and constructivist. Behaviorism deals with how language should be used and how it should be measured. Rational linguists were interested in the what questions; but they were more interested in the why questions. Constructivism is not one way. There are many ways to construct our knowledge.

In this lesson I learnt the schools of thoughts. One of them is
Behaviorism (Structuralism).Behaviorism was descriptive one. Descriptive linguistics ignore parole and langue. It deals with how language should be used. It focused on publicly observable responses- those that can be objectively perceived, recorded, and measured. Second one is Rationalism. Cognitive psychologists declared that meaning, understanding, and knowing were essential data for psychological study. The generative linguist and cognitive psychologist were, to be sure, interested in the what questions; but they were more interested in the why questions. And the last one is Constructivism. There is not one way. There are many ways to construct our knowledge. In the past there were teachers but now there are technology and other equipments. At first I didn’t understand the schools of thoughts, their aims. I wondered if I use them in my teaching or not, because it appeared as if they had been useless for me and my students. However, I understood that I need to study these thoughts deeply. No quick and easy method is guaranteed to provide success. For being good at my branch and being a quality teacher I need all directive of these thoughts.
