PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Dr. Bob Donaldson has provided progressive and visionary leadership as Lewiston School District's Superintendent of Schools during the past 8 years, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson bas served Lewiston School Distriet’s children with distinction since his cmployment’in 1989, as resognized by numerous awards from state and national professional ‘organizations, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson led the Lewiston School District in an extensive effort to refocus on long standing facility needs in ordet to better serve Lewiston’s high school students into the future, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson’ sinnovative and energetic approach to gain community suppor for replacing the 1928 Lewiston High Schoel Campus with a new Lewiston High School and Career Technical Center in the Lewiston Orchards met with overwhelming success, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson led the District in « successful plan to reorganize its K-12 schools implementing a K-S elementary, 6-8 middle school and 9-12 high school model, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson's tenure has assured thatthe Lewiston School District is @ recognized, rationally accredited system, and has expanded leaming opportunites for students in the District and regionally through the DeAWley Career Technical Center, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson led the District's response tothe COVID-19 pandemic that provided face- {oface instruction for Lewiston School District students every school day ofthe current school year, and WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson wil etre from his professional career andthe office ofthe Superintendent (of Schools on June 30,2021, NOW THEREFORE, We, the Board of Directors of Independent School District No. 1, do hereby proclaim Thursday, May 20, 2021, as a DAY OF APPRECIATION HONORING RETIRING SUPERINTENDENT DR.
