Madras Rubber Factory (MRF) Limited

MRF Limited is engaged in the manufacturing, distribution and sale of an extensive range
of superior quality tyres for various kinds of vehicles.

The company’s operations relate to manufacture of rubber products, such as tyres, tubes,
flaps, tread rubber and conveyor belt, as well as specialty coatings for a variety of applications.
MRF has six production facilities in India and around 80 sales offices. From its humble origins
in 1946, the company has come a long way to become the market leader in the tyre
manufacturing industry. MRF exports its products to over 75 countries worldwide.

The Company was incorporated as a private limited company on November 5, 1960. The
Company was incorporated as a private limited company on November 5, 1961.

The name of the Company, Madras Rubber Factory Ltd. was changed to MRF Ltd in the
year 1980.

In 1990 the Aruna Leathers & Exports Ltd. was amalgamated with the Company. As per
the scheme one equity share of Rs 10 each of MRF Ltd. was allotted for every 10,000 shares of
Rs 10 each fully paid-up held in ALEL. Accordingly, 25 equity shares were allotted to the
erstwhile shareholders of ALEL. The Company introduced `Vapocure' colours in the market.

In 1991 the Company promoted a new Company viz. MRF International, Ltd., in view of
the tremendous growth potential in the export market.

In 1992 the Company has formed a new Company, viz., MRF INTERNATIONAL
LIMITED and the Company has received the certificate of commencement of business.

Today, global tyre manufacturers have to plan and adapt to changes in customer demand,
fluctuations in raw material prices and availability, while keeping pace with timelines for
shipments; in the face of increasing competition in the global marketplace.
