DEFINITION.
1. Decision making can be regarded as the mental processes
resulting in the selection of a course of action among several
alternatives.
2. Problem solving involves goal-directed thinking and action
in situations for which no routine solutions exist. The
problem solver has a more or less well defined goal, but it is
not immediately obvious how to reach it. 
PROBLEM-SOLVING TECHNIQUES

 Divide and conquer

 Lateral thinking

 Method of focal objects


THE PROBLEM SOLVING PROCESS.
The Problem Solving process consists of a sequence
of sections that fit together depending on the type
of problem to be solved. These are:
 Problem Definition.

 Problem Analysis.

 Generating possible Solutions.

 Analyzing the Solutions.

 Selecting the best Solution(s).

 Planning the next course of action (Next Steps)
