Cheese Straws Puff Pastry

Puff pastry
Parmesan
Egg wash
Cheddar
Paprika
Method

1. On a lightly floured surface roll the puff pastry into a square about 2-3mm thick.
2. Egg wash the top to the pastry.
3. Cover the top with parmesan.
4. Grate a layer of cheese sparsely over.
5. Sprinkle the Paprika evenly over the top.
6. Cut the pastry into strips
7. Carefully lift the pastry strips onto a lined baking sheet and position with equal gaps
between the pastry strips.
8. Place into a preheated oven 210°C
9. Cook for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
10. Carefully lift onto a wire rack to cool.

Cheese Straws Wholemeal Pastry

Wholemeal pastry
Cheddar
Mustard
Chopped Parsley
Parmesan
Method

1. On a lightly floured surface roll the wholemeal pastry into a square 2mm thick. Cut
in half and put one half to one side.
2. Put a thin layer of mustard on top of one piece of pastry.
3. Cover the mustard with parmesan.
4. Grate a layer of cheese sparsely over.
5. Sprinkle the chopped parsley evenly over the top.
6. Take the second piece of pastry and place on top on the first.
7. Roll over the two layers so that they stick together
8. Cut the pastry into strips, twist each strip so that it looks like a cork screw.
9. Carefully lift the pastry strips onto a lined baking sheet and position with equal gaps
between the pastry strips.
10. Place into a preheated oven 210°C
11. Cook for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
12. Carefully lift onto a wire rack to cool.
