Dear Mr. Wadden,
‘Recently I have become aware of an incident that occurred over a weekend in late
‘October on the Central Coast of California during something called a “team building”
getaway for department heads. Though I have not talked to any of those involved my
sources say that what occurred was a serious violation of the any organization's Sexual
‘Harassment/Hostile Work Environment Policy. As the story goes, there was also some
inappropriate/unwelcomed “touching” which may border on a sexual assault.
‘Here is the story as I understand it. Everyone met at a restaurant for dinner. The main
instigator wes the city manager who is named Jeff Dolan. He was very drunk and loud to
the point that other customers in the restaurant were disturbed. Not to say other
department heads had not over indulged and had not participated. After dinner was over,
they all went back to the hotel room. Onn the drive back, Mr. Dolan was in the back seat
with one of the other department heads and this is where the unwelcome “touching” took
place. This person had to ask Mr. Dolan to stop. This act was witnessed by other
individuals. After arriving at the hotel, Mr. Dolan continued to try to entice the person. he
inappropriately touched as well as making several phone calls to rooms, pounding on
walls and yelling in the hallways, The incident was so disruptive that some department
heads decided to return home the next day which was a day early.

Hey, if Tam hearing of this what if the other employees hear of this. And, how are the
employment policies of the city going to hold up if management doesn’t hold themselves
to them. I think I have read of employee terminations and expensive lawsuit settlements
under similar circumstances. I am sending a copy of this letter to you as well as those
copied below with the hope that this incident to investigated or, at least, this apparent
organizational behavior be corrected.
