NSW State Election – Have Your Say On

Saturday!
"...and for those waiting for postal votes, they are on their way..."

State Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, is reminding all residents that voting
in NSW elections is compulsory.

"Whether you are here on the Tweed or will be away on polling day, failure to
vote may incur a fine" Mr Provest said.

The NSW Electoral Commission has advised there are a number of ways to
cast your vote, including postal voting, pre-poll voting and 'ivote', a new
method of voting via the internet.

"Pre-poll voting is available now at 39 Wharf Street, Tweed Heads, for those
unable to attend a polling booth on Saturday." Mr Provest said.

"The pre-poll booth is open from 8am until 6pm and visitors to the Tweed can
also cast an absentee vote there. A full list of candidates for each electorate is
available from the volunteers distributing my 'How to Vote' cards."

Mr Provest has also advised residents who lodged postal vote application
forms that voting papers are on their way from the NSW Electoral
Commission.

"My office has received many calls asking when they will receive their voting
papers. The NSW Electoral Commission has advised they are being posted
this week but if anyone who has applied for a postal vote does not receive it
by Thursday, they should call 1300 135 736," Mr Provest said.

Voting via the internet using "ivote" is also available to travellers and those
unable to use a polling booth on Saturday. Information on this new way to
vote is available at www.votensw.info
