Questions I will be asked

1) What is your interest in our program?

 Specifics about program that fit your goals - How it is important to you to be in the right
environment with friendly people. etc. say that as if that is one of the things you are looking at
as you are interviewing, and that you are glad that you have already gotten a firsthand report
that they have that good rapport there at OHSU
 Location draws; family, friends, etc. that may draw you to area

4) Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Academics vs private practice? And if academics, what draws
you to academics?

1) Research training opportunities - Human Investigations Program, MCR. I am interested in


improving outcomes in sepsis, shock.
2) Why critical care - Physiology in medical school. Challenging field. I am interested in a career
combining clinical medicine, teaching, and research
3) How many ICU's? Burn ICU? Obstetric ICU? Transplant ICU? Trauma ICU?
4) Involvement of fellows in trauma. Trauma service or just consults.
5) Critical care ethics, Bio-ethics committee
6) Mentoring?
7) Separate procedure service

9) Call schedule
10) How many hospitals covered
11) Conferences? How many do I give?
