These are the guidelines you need to follow while correcting the theory

part of the ET final exam paper for

problem no.1:-

1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has

mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. The method consists of a number of steps with diagrams. It is to
be awarded 3.5 marks as a whole. The method includes finding
the power delivered and also the current together.
a. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with correct
calculations then award the entire 3.5 marks.
b. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with incorrect
calculations then award 2.5 marks.
c. If the method followed is correct and has not been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary),but with
correct calculations then award 2.5 marks.
d. If only the method followed is correct then award 1.5
marks.
e. If the method followed is incorrect then donot award
anything.
3. If the final answer is correct then award 1 mark(both power and
current(0.5 marks for each)).

problem no.2:-
1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has
mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. The method consists of a number of steps with diagrams. It is to
be awarded 3.5 marks as a whole. The method includes finding
RL and the maximum power transfer together.
a. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with correct
calculations then award the entire 3.5 marks.
b. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with incorrect
calculations then award 2.5 marks.
c. If the method followed is correct and has not been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with correct
calculations then award 2.5 marks.
d. If only the method followed is correct then award 1.5
marks.
e. If the method followed is incorrect then donot award
anything.
3. If the final answer is correct then award 1 mark(both RL and the
maximum power transfer (0.5 marks for each)).

problem no.3:-

1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has

mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. For finding out the values of R,L and C , award 3 marks. The three
marks should include the method as well as the correct values.
a. Each parameter consists of 1 mark each 0.5 mark for the
method and 0.5 mark for the answer.
3. For the resonant frequency and bw and Q award 0.5 mark for
each 0.25 mark for the method and 0.25 mark for the answer.

problem no.4:-

1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has

mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. The method consists of a number of steps with diagrams. It is to
be awarded 3.5 marks as a whole. The method includes finding
the current expression.
a. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with correct
calculations then award the entire 3.5 marks.
b. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with incorrect
calculations then award 2.5 marks.
c. If the method followed is correct and has not been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with correct
calculations then award 2.5 marks.
d. If only the method followed is correct then award 1.5
marks.
e. If the method followed is incorrect then donot award
anything.
3. If the final answer is correct then award 1 mark.

problem no.5:-
1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has
mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. The answers carry 0.75 marks for the two outer limbs and the
central limb together. That is 0.25 marks for each. And for finding
out the flux and flux density for individual cases 0.125 marks
each. If all the answers are right the student gets 0.75 marks
total.
3. The method consists of a number of steps with diagrams. It is to
be awarded 3.75 marks as a whole. The method includes finding
the flux and the flux density.
a. One outer limb
i. If the method followed is correct and has been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with
correct calculations then award the entire 1 marks.
ii. if the method followed is correct and has been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with
incorrect calculations then award 0.75 marks.
iii. If the method followed is correct and has not been
shown with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary)
with correct calculations then award 0.75 marks.
iv. If only the method followed is correct then award 0.5
marks.
v. If the method followed is incorrect then donot award
anything.
b. Second outer limb
i. Same as above
c. Central limb
i. If the method followed is correct and has been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with
correct calculations then award the entire 1.75 marks.
ii. if the method followed is correct and has been shown
with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary) with
incorrect calculations then award 1 marks.
iii. If the method followed is correct and has not been
shown with proper steps and diagrams(if necessary)
with correct calculations then award 1 marks.
iv. If only the method followed is correct then award 0.75
marks.
v. If the method followed is incorrect then donot award
anything.

problem no.6:-

1. If the question data is identified correctly and the student has

mentioned what to find our properly in the answer award 0.5
marks.
2. For a bit
a. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps with correct calculations and with correct
answer then award 0.5 marks.
b. If the method followed is correct and answer is wrong
award 0.25 mark.
c. If both the method and answer are wrong award zero for it
3. For b bit
a. The full load and half load and one fourth load carry one
mark each
i. Individual core and copper loss carry 0.5 marks
weightage in it summing to one mark.
ii. For finding core loss method carries 0.25 marks and
answer carries 0.25 marks.
iii. For finding copper loss method carries 0.25 marks and
answer carries 0.25 marks.
B- bit sums up total to 3 marks
4. For c bit
a. If the method followed is correct and has been shown with
proper steps with correct calculations and with correct
answer then award 1 marks.
b. If the method followed is correct and answer is wrong
award 0.5 mark.
c. If both the method and answer are wrong award zero for it

Note :

The method includes relevant steps with formulae if necessary or

diagrams if necessary.
