Note: Checks should be made payable in advance (by 7 days before the wedding) of the wedding to
Northwood Christian Church. The church will issue honorariums to the caretaker, coordinator, musician,
and minister directly.

 WEDDING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Scheduling

The church Office Administrator coordinates the scheduling for building use and staff availability.
Desired dates must be reserved and confirmed on the church calendar by completing a Wedding
Registration Form.
Weddings may be scheduled, as the calendar will permit, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.,
Monday through Saturday, and between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
If possible, please give serious consideration to scheduling weddings at least sixty days in advance.

Confirmation of Date and Time

Confirmation of the date and time for a wedding will be made only after the Wedding Registration
Form and a $100.00 deposit have been received in the Church Office and the staff members involved
have confirmed their availability.
Church members will have a scheduling preference over non-members prior to confirmation.
After a wedding date has been confirmed, it may not be changed, except at the written request of
the bride and groom.

Building Use Policies

Smoking is not permitted at any time or any place in the church building.
No alcoholic beverages are permitted at any time or any place within the church building or on the
church property.
No rice, confetti, bird seed, etc., are to be thrown inside the church building. Use outside must be
cleared with Wedding Coordinator.
It is our expectation that all persons involved in the wedding party and among the guests will treat
Northwood’s buildings and property with respect and care.

Questions and Miscellaneous

The Church Wedding Coordinator may be contacted during normal working hours for information
or arrangements – Monday – Thursday 9:30-2:30. The phone number is 283-1352. The FAX
number is 283-2206. She will arrange with you the arrival times for floral deliveries,
photographers, etc.
All weddings will be officiated by Pastor Ted Nottingham.
The services of the Custodian are required for all weddings. This is necessary in order that supplies
and the cleanliness of the building are assured in preparation for Sunday morning activities.
The marriage license (with all necessary items completed) should be presented to the wedding
coordinator at the wedding rehearsal.
Northwood’s staff has the right to refuse musical selections considered inappropriate for the
sacred occasion of a wedding.
