Goal!

Deconstruction

The opening shot shows the producers of this film. This is because they want to
gain advertising from it and if in the past they have had a successful and well-
known film, people will recognise the producer and watch it with the hope that
it is as good as the other film.

This setting shot shows the audience where the film is based and people
who have been here or live here will have an instant idea of where it is. It also
shows

This shot is meant to symbolise what is too come for the main character during
the film. His life goes from rags to riches and this is the idea for my film. He
doesn’t know it yet but this will be a day to day thing for him in the future.
Also, as this is at the start of the trailer and we do not know the story, we are
led to believe that this is his house.
Now we see a direct contrast to the previous shot as he has gone from laying
on a lilo on a pool to sweeping up leaves. This sets up the characters
background and we then can relate to him as he is from a working class
background.

We then see that he plays football but cannot afford to buy shin pads. This
shows that he still does things he enjoys, even if he cannot afford all the
correct equipment.
We then see his dad hand him some money towards his flight and living. This
money would have been hard to save and in comparison to what he is going to
earn it is like pennies. This really shows the changes he will go through.

Like earlier, this shot also sets the location for the second half of the film.
Again, people will be able to recognize it and will know what some of the
standout landmarks are. It also shows the differences between the two cities.
The symbolism in this shot shows that they hard work and effort that he is
putting in helps you to achieve your dreams. Even though he is the only one in
the stadium, he still feels like he is successful because he has been given an
opportunity.
